Karen Baker CPS, PSA, PSTB
An artist and teacher for many years, Karen Baker paints what she is most inspired by--the world of nature and its ever-changing landscape in all seasons. Favorite subjects cover a range of interest from the lowland tropical waterways and coastal shorelines of the South to old farm buildings, hillsides, open meadows and mountain vistas of New England. She is also known for her colorful floral paintings, particularly the Poppy Field Series which features sweeping fields of colorful red-orange flowers that currently numbers over 160 paintings.
Baker's paintings are interwoven with natural light and subtle emotion. They are highly textural and expressive of a personal dialogue with nature. She is skilled at using color not only to render form but to create great depth in the picture plane. Her paintings are clearly recognizable by their dramatic skies and full-palette hues. Her favorite time of day to capture in a landscape painting is late afternoon when the sun is at a low angle, yielding long shadows and warm colors.
Though her primary medium is soft pastel, she works also in acrylics but in a more abstract manner. Her paintings are composites of many visual resources. She paints both in the studio and outdoors, creating finished pieces from plein air color studies, sketches, photo references and more importantly, her imagination, which she believes produces paintings most expressive of an "inner landscape.”
Throughout her career, her artwork has received awards and recognition in regional and national shows as well as from plein air events and international art magazine competitions, including The Artist’s Magazine and Pastel Journal. She holds Signature Membership with Connecticut Pastel Society, Pastel Society of America, and Pastel Society of Tampa Bay and is also a member The Exhibiting Society of Artists, and the Vermont Pastel Society. Galleries in Florida and New England represent her artwork. KBakerStudios.com

Eden Crider is a 19-year-old fine art student at St. Petersburg College in Clearwater, Florida. Working primarily in acrylic and oil, she builds on a rich family tradition of artists to create pieces that reflect a deep connection to nature and the lasting impressions of her travels. Having lived in Azerbaijan and India, where her parents served as missionaries, until age 12, Eden infuses her work with the sensory memories of those landscapes: lush horizons, vibrant textiles, and intricate patterns of life. She invites viewers to explore themes of journey, home, and the natural world through bold brushwork and thoughtful composition.

Sue Ebert first picked up a paintbrush in 2011 - well after becoming a grandmother. It was during a series of art classes that she discovered her love for oil painting. A simple piece of advice from a teacher—“Everything in a drawing is made up of shapes and values”—gave her the clarity and courage to take on more complex subjects, opening the door to a lifelong creative pursuit.
Now based in Florida, Sue draws much of her artistic inspiration from the many years she spent living overseas. Her paintings reflect a broad range of themes, from vibrant depictions of light and life to quieter works that express her Christian faith. While her typical style is rich in color, her newest series, The Shepherd, is rendered entirely in sepia tones, offering a contemplative look at the gentleness and strength found in the Shepherd’s role.

Betsy Ore Glass is a fine artist whose work is a celebration of coastal beauty, memory, and spirit. After a distinguished 30-year career in advertising and broadcasting she transitioned to the arts, following a deep, lifelong connection to the ocean and the natural world.
Her creative journey began with photography as a freelance contributor to several newspapers on North Carolina’s Outer Banks, where she rekindled her passion for capturing the subtleties of light, water, and shoreline. These visual moments inspired Reflections by the Sea, a beloved weekly column blending her photographs and written reflections on nature, faith, and coastal living.
Over time, Betsy’s photography evolved into a painting practice, where she found her true artistic voice through the luminous softness of pastels, vibrancy of oil and acrylics. Today, she is best known for her evocative seascapes, coastal scenes, and occasional portraits—all imbued with warmth, joy, and a deep sense of place. Her paintings reside in private collections and are regularly exhibited throughout Florida and the Southeast.
In addition to her visual work, Betsy is the author of two published books: Reflections by the Sea (April 2022) and Christmas Traditions (November 2022), which further reflect her love for storytelling and the coastal life that inspires her.

Louis Scurti was quoted as saying: “I think I was born with a pencil in my hand“. My father worked for a pencil factory and always brought samples home. When these pencils were colored pencils or paints, my creativity took off. Before I went to college I had no formal autistic education so I would use the supplies and paint that were available in our basement sometimes painting on little pieces of cardboard with household paints! I also worked in Clay that my father brought home from his factory. He would take the items back and fire them, so began my career in sculpture for the many years. The trajectory of my work has been: religious art, expressive, religious art, iconic art, nature, scenery, and abstract work. I painted and sculpted through my college years postgraduate and through the seminary. My art has always been my spiritual connection to God and helps me through any struggles, personal academic or spiritual. When I paint I feel I enter into another dimension and leave everything behind to focus on the work. Through the years my painting has become figuratively abstract, and I realize once the work is completed that it represents my spiritual experience of life at that moment. Some of them are very anxious, which reflects my anxiety at the moment or that period of my life some very peaceful and calming . Many of my works of art are in private collections through gifts or sales. I don’t take commissions because my art is very personal and comes from within. Therefore, at times people who appreciate it can purchase it, but I don’t work for commissions. As a Catholic priest, I continued my painting experiences which became part of my ministry, as well as my experiences as a licensed marriage and family therapist. My paintings revealed who I am with no explanations other than the visual representation on the canvas or wood. The paintings I have produced reveal my journey of life and my faith in Jesus Christ.
Jeanne Seitz – Fine Artist Specializing in Judeo-Christian Compositions
My journey as an artist began in 1973 after moving to Tampa, Florida, with a deep sense that I was meant to do something meaningful. That calling led me to my first painting class, where despite limited instruction, a spark was lit.
Driven to learn, I immersed myself in art books and independent study. A breakthrough came when I joined a small workshop with an encouraging instructor—an experience that gave me the confidence to explore freely and develop my voice. I began teaching soon after, becoming the kind of teacher I had once needed. Through hundreds of students and countless hours of study, I grew alongside them.
Inspired by the Old Masters and drawn deeply to spiritual themes, I began painting biblical stories—work that allowed me to express my faith and purpose without fear of criticism. In 2023, a chance poolside conversation led me to Lyle Polyak, who reawakened my path as an exhibiting artist.
Raised in a coal miner’s shack in the Appalachians, I’m the seventh of eight children. Faith, family, and resilience shaped my life. Today, I paint to share God’s love, honoring the values instilled by my parents, John and Easter, and the enduring grace of Jesus.
